Our cooperation has achieved excellent results in education, culture and sports

Exactly 204 years ago, on July 9, 1816, the Argentine Republic declared independence in Tucuman Province, the smallest province throughout the country.
Since that date, a rich and eventful history began and developed over the years, and our country turned into an excellent and successful example of a multicultural country, in which diverse races, religions and cultures arose, but above all, the most important thing was always to be Argentine, as that was The strong link to unity between all these aspects.
Celebrating this National Day from the Gulf is something very special. Although the distance separating us from the State of Qatar geographically is about 13,000 km, the bilateral relations are strongly united, not only through joint achievements but through our deep mutual feeling of friendship.
Our country established diplomatic relations in 1974 through a joint statement, after which a memorandum of understanding was signed to open our embassy in Doha in 1994.
Since then, the relationship between Argentina and Qatar has grown rapidly, steadily and without interruption in the way of achieving the achievements that the unjust blockade has not been able to delay or hinder.
And while the State of Qatar increased its exports and investments in our country, we increased our exports. However, not everything can be restricted to the commercial economic aspect. As we have been able to achieve excellent results in our cooperation in the field of education, as well as in the cultural and sports fields. This undoubtedly contributes to a realistic and sustainable integration of our peoples over time.
We have clear evidence of our joint work, as during the past two years we have been able to reach nearly 40 agreements or memoranda of understanding that include those that have already been signed, ready for signature, or at the final stage of negotiations.
The Republic of Argentina has found in Qatar the rich and generous country with a noticeable presence at the regional and international levels, known for its help and support not only for developing countries but also on the international humanitarian scene, and has become a regional leader in this field.
For its part, the State of Qatar in Argentina found not only a reliable strategic partner, but also a country with hopes for humanity, a peaceful country with stunning landscapes and a very friendly people.
Our relationship is merged, and we just have to work mutually with each other to deepen it day by day. This is an easy task for two countries like ours, whose peoples share values and basic concepts like family, friendship and loyalty.
