On 10 June 1829, our country asserted its sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands and surroundings, with the establishment of the government structure that we commemorate today, appointing Luis Vernet as the first Commander-Governor.
The legitimate, imprescriptible and unwavering argentine sovereignty claim over the Malvinas, South Georgias and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas, keep alive the memory of heroes, veterans and fallen who fought for our country. In our Embassy, they are always present.
