His Excellency addressed the Argentine citizens and all those residing in Qatar by saying: «From this standpoint, we all need the support of our health authorities in particular, taking into account their jobs and listening to their decisive instructions, and it is important to stay at home to save lives.
On his quarantine diary, Ambassador Carlos Hernandez continued: “It is not easy for everyone. In my case, I am not used to it, I always try to move, to be active, but I have to give a good example to my people, and set an example for them. We have precise instructions from our government in Argentina. At the same time, we are following the guidelines of the Qatari authorities that we fully trust. ”
He added, “Basically, I work from home, like all embassy employees. And very few times we need to go to our office near us; Because our electronic system does not enable us to comply with all our tasks from a distance. In any case, the instructions are clear, the priority is to work from home, and we interact this way. "Aside from work, it is not easy to be at home all the time when you like sporting activities or going to the gym, but my wife and I are both very convinced that the priority is health in such a dangerous situation."
Regarding the advice that the embassy provides to its citizens, he said: “We are in regular contact with all citizens registered in our consulate and are ready to assist them in case of need. Fortunately, until now we had no real danger. Our recommendations to them are the same recommendations that we follow. ”
Regarding the health measures taken by the Qatari authorities since the beginning of the crisis, he added: “We deeply appreciate these measures. Because they work efficiently, and they have the necessary measures and legislation in time to protect all who live in this beautiful and generous country. ”
And he added, "We were able to visit hospitals, meet health professionals, and familiarize themselves with the equipment, beds, and medical facilities available for quarantine, as well as the tests adopted by the Qatari health institutions for early detection of Covid-19 infections, and we noticed that all the medical equipment and capabilities were Ready on time and well organized. ”
His Excellency also praised the conduct of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, saying: “We can also see how because of the vision that the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management possesses, under the guidance of His Highness the Emir of the country, We have not lived through the stressful situation that we have noticed in many developed countries with long lines in front of supermarkets and pharmacies, or not having enough products to get them. This shows that we are receiving good care in Qatar and we need to support this responsible and effective work. ” On the other hand, His Excellency Carlos Hernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Doha, highlighted the role that the State of Qatar has played to evacuate many Argentine citizens who remained stuck in the airports of the world, and they were returned to their country through Doha International Airport, saying: “I would like to thank His Excellency Akbar Al-Baker and his team at Qatar Airways for their generous and effective assistance always; Where we were able to return hundreds of stranded Argentine citizens in South Asia, Australia and Europe. It was a good business together in times of real need, and we will never forget it. ”
